“Splash” is a timed 18-hour from-life drawing of a cast head. In the beginning, I felt like the plain graphite drawing was looking unbothered. To add complexity to the piece I chose to use watercolors to design a hat that also incorporates the movement of water. Now, the untroubled look, even while being soaked with water, makes the character seem more at peace with whatever is going on around her. She became more interesting to me, and hopefully you as well.
